Kite surfing: Sunset Beach downwind to Doodles Wind Direction: S Wind Stength: 15 - 20 knots Surf / Sea State: 4ft surf Air Temperature: 27C Sea Temperature: cool Weather: Sunshine Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Wow - easily my best kite surfing session to date. One I won't forget in a
hurry.
After bein in the backpackers for less than 24 hours, I managed to meet
some awesome guys in there who basically met up a few weeks beforehand and
all go for a kiting session together. Alex the Italian guy injured himself
the day before at Langebaan after some huge jump so he took the day off.
That meant he could be our driver so he dropped us off at Sunset beach for
11am and we did a massive downinder about 3K I reckon all the way to
Doodles Restaurant 2 and a half hours later.
First big downinder I've done which was a piece of cake not having to work
your way upwind. I set off along with Julian and Chris at Sunset and met up
with the Canadian and George the Greek guy a few car parks further
downwind.
The 5 of us were having a ball and this time I was going big and getting
some serioulsy big jumps in which also ended in some good spankings. What a
session and done in the prime heat of the day. Even though I put loadsa
suncream on, it wasn't enough and I was sunburnt to a crisp.
The session was topped of when we landed at Doodles for a nice cold beer
then back to Blouberg for some lunch. top sesh
